Anarlog (formerly Hyprnote/Char) is an open-source, local-first AI notepad for meetings built on Rust/Tauri. Transcription runs on-device so audio never leaves the machine, and notes/transcripts are stored as plain markdown files on disk with no cloud backend. For LLM-powered summarization and note-merging, the end user supplies their own provider: the README states "Bring your own LLM: OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, OpenRouter, Ollama, LM Studio, or anything OpenAI-compatible." It works with any meeting platform (Zoom, Teams, Meet, in-person). Currently macOS 14.2+ only (Apple Silicon and Intel); Windows and Linux are planned for Q2 2026. Free for local transcription and BYOK. Note: the candidate's listed URL (anarlog.app) is dead and the listed repo (anarlog/anarlog) 404s; the correct sources are anarlog.so and github.com/fastrepl/anarlog.
